This contains the first four. Rockford and many of the original characters are noticeably older which is quite a shock to the system!
The stories are Ok but not quite as dynamic as some of the original series. This German version is the only copy I've managed to find for region 2 - the menu is quite easy to negotiate to get the original English dialogue.
The picture quality is generally good, occasionally with a bit of digital noise. The sound is good but on a couple of episodes slightly loses synch with the picture towards the end.

Nachdem ich die meisten Staffeln von Rockford kenne, manche sogar mehrmals gesehen habe, so war mir die Existenz der in den 90er Jahren entstandenen Spielfilme bis vor kurzem gar nicht bekannt.
I thought this was one of the better private dick programs. Issac Hayes wasn't listed as a player, but was on enough to have been - if memory serves he did become a regular for awhile.
Hayes added a nice touch to the show with his tough image and his reference to Rockford as "Rockfish", which drove Rockford nuts.

He's character actor Dennis Fimple , who had previously worked on the series, but also has a connection with series' creator Roy Huggins , having worked on his series prior to The Rockford Files ; Alias Smith and Jones Goofs Scotty is eating a slice of garbage can pizza while he is talking to Rockford, just shortly after the movie begins.

Leider, muss ich nun sagen, denn die Filme haben so gut wie gar nicht gefallen. Lediglich "Teuflisches Komplott" habe ich mir komplett angeschaut, obwohl auch dieser nur bedingt an Rockfords Glanzzeiten erinnert.
Die anderen 3 Filme habe ich allesamt nach etwa einer Viertelstunde abgebrochen, da ich Sie einfach nur schlecht und nicht sehenswert fand.
So recht mag man Garner die Rolle des aktionsreichen Rockford, eben aufgrund seines Alters nicht mehr abnehmen. Bei anderen Typen, wie z.
Columbo spielte das Alter weniger eine Rolle, Peter Falk nahm man die Rolle des auf den ersten Blick immer etwas trottelig wirkenden Inspektors durchaus bis zum Schluss ab.
Ich kann die Spielfilme im Gegensatz zu den alten Staffeln jedenfalls nicht weiterempfehlen. Das ist endlich mal ne gute Umsetzung.
Statt wie bei vielen anderen Boxen sind die Disks in dieser Box nicht gestapelt. Der Flatschen ist netterweise nicht auf der Box, sondern auf die Folie geklebt.
