At the police office, when she is accused of a big crime, she reacts as if she had merely been caught shop lifting.
She stares at the accuser, stutters and what is classic Faye opens her mouth to say something only to be interrupted by the other actor perhaps impatient to say the lines and get the plot moving.
In this situation she should have screamed hysterically at the awful predicament she's in but instead she throws some objects across the desk in annoyance.
In another scene, when she witnesses a death, she could have screamed or acted shocked but instead she just stares. Aside from these small scenes, she is so entrancing to watch that this thriller is a pleasure to see!

Yes, the agent played by Carradine goes on a spiritual quest, but probably not the one that viewers expect. This may be one of my favorite films set in the ancient world.
The biggest weakness of the movie is the acting. Carradine and Keitel both deliver some stiff line-readings. I suspect the Italian director was not much help to them.

We have seen it with other trilogies, it is not always easy to write the middle part in a trilogy but in my opinion it was successful, the film had a good pace and fans of the books will be delighted to see the story come alive on the big screen.
The differences to the book are small and do not affect the story. But Carradine ultimately rises to the occasion, especially in the crucial last half-hour. Footnote: the Italian telemovie with the same title is a very weak remake, retaining only the basic premise and the name of the main character.
A superior police drama. In this cracking black and white police drama, Ealing comes up trumps yet again. Made in , with good locations in and around London, the story concerns Jack Hawkins, as Superintendent Halliday, who has to track down, a very clever cat burglar, who is an expert in disguises.
What makes this film so interesting, is that Hawkins, trying to reproduce the character, made a similar film, 2 years later, called 'Gideon of Scotland Yard', which was shot in colour by the great John Ford.
Where 'Long Arm' succeeded in every way, 'Gideon' was a shambles. It just proves that the one of greatest directors in Hollywood history, and a good cast , are hamstrung, without a reasonable script.
He takes revenge on the murderers, only to discover that one was the brother of a local land baron, Henry Delarue.
Delarue runs the local town with a brutal hand. Now he wants vengeance on the man who killed his brother and the local townspeople are too scared of him to stand up to him.
Jon is fighting more than just the local thugs, he is facing the entire town. Written by grantss. Here Jon has been waiting to be reunited with his wife and son after a seven year gap.
Only as soon as they arrive they befall a terrible crime and the only way Jon is going to be able to re right the wrong is by fighting back.
Now to say any more could be a plot spoiler — needless to say this is a classic western of the revenge genre. It paints the bad guys really bad and the good guys flawed but essentially 'right'.
There is ambiguity too and there are the townsfolk with their own agendas and greed and power stalking the prairie.
What makes this outstanding is the acting, the musical score, the make up and the fantastic direction. Director Kristian Levring is clearly a fan of John Ford and those of you who know your westerns will see a few shots framed a la 'The Searchers'.
Still I see this as flattery and this is truly an excellent film that will only go to prove that as a genre the western is alive, kicking and doing really well — absolutely recommended.
