SRK is so convincing in playing the role of two different people. The leading lady plays her role with a gentle sincerity which becomes the heart of the film.

She agrees but says she will never love again. They live in separate sections of his large house, and he can tell she is consumed with sorrow, and pays for her to take group dance lessons to cheer her up.
He then asks his best friend, a loudmouth barber, for fashion advice. Decked out in tight new clothes, a fresh haircut, he hides in the background to watch her dance.
But when the group dance is split up into partners, he is reluctantly pulled onto the dance floor to partner up.
She does not recognize him and he puts on a new name and a new persona Back at home, he is still his original self Whom will she choose?
The most surprising conclusion of this "Walter Mitty"-type story, is what the principal characters finally come to understand the definition of love.

This he does suprisingly well. Sharma, in her first role, was excellent, and fully believable in her emotions. While the songs and choreography were average, the cinematography, locations, and sets were lovely.
I was conflicted as to the credibility of Taani's reaction to the truth, but otherwise found this to be a sweet and enjoyable film with a beautiful message, celebrating unselfish love.
First of all I have to admit to being an unabashed past middle age anglo-American fan of Shah Rukh Khan!
I have watched about forty of his films which is about half of his body of work. So I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly!
And yes he does sometimes over act. And yes he can be over the top emotional at times, but as a line in a Hindi movie put it " no one does a love story like Shah Rukh Khan!
I love how he is the ultimate performer and show off, never afraid to play the dorky Suni or the exaggerated, over the top character of Raj.
